i believe the decision to not have mastercam work on older computers was a big reason for this. I know for a fact that night school mastercam classes at a local college was canceled many times for lack of students relatively recently when they stopped using X2.
Its 15 years old now, not sure why you'd expect leading edge CAD/CAM software to still support this OS.especially a 32 bit architecture.
You ran X2 on XP 32 bit machine because XP was only 5 years old then. With any computer you should only be expecting 3 years of effecient life (from manufacture date) from a computer. Any student enrolled in a serious engineering or trade school program will probably be buying a brand new machine and are usually given specifications before hand on the type of machine needed to run the applications they will be using in school. I doubt Mastercam has lost any college students due to this and I doubt you'll find any students running 15 year old laptops. i firmly believe mastercam lost a lot of students and colleges lost a lot of students when students found out the home version of mastercam did not run on their home computersYou ran X2 on XP 32 bit machine because XP was only 5 years old then. I had no problems running mastercam X2 on XP 32 bit windows home version. seeing how they run just fine and i have not had problems i usually do not buy new computers til one fails to work.
Yes and that means XP and Vista home versions and 32 bit will not work as i found out.
